Some of the pit falls you can run into with internet marketing. The following methods are one of the first things that people who are new to the internet try - and when these things don't work they write off making money on-line as a big waste of time, something that's only acheived by a select few who are lucky and it's just not the case.

If you avoid these time tested methods that simply don't work in the first place, then you won't have to deal with the discoragment and you won't have to deal with the pain of losing your money and having your hopes quashed.

It's just as important learning what not to do as it is learning new marketing techniques. ALL the following are absolutely guaranteed NOT to work! We've been on-line for years, bought all the books, talked with leading marketing experts, got feedback from 1,000's of affiliates and got the T-shirt! Please believe us, we have never heard of anyone ever (selling anything) making even $1 from any of the following: All it's going to do is make you dicouraged and want to give up and quit!

Internet Myths

Ways that people like to tell you how to drive traffic to your website, but in fact never work, it's just a load of B.S.

Guaranteed Traffic
"For $30 we're going to deliver 30,000 visitors to your website..."

Never ever spend your money on "Guaranteed traffic". It's just a waste of your time. This is what guaranteed traffic is; You come across a site or advert stating "For $30 we're going to deliver 30,000 visitors to your website..." and of course you get a little message in the back of your head thinking... "Wow, if I get just 1 sale for every 100 visitors then I'm going to make 300 sales and make all this money and all I've got to do is spend $30! It's going to be great, where do I order". All that happens is, yeah you might get 30,000 people who visit your first page at your site, but those 30,000 people could be people that are "popped under" from another website, or just randomly shot over to your page with absolutely no interest in whatever your site is selling. No one has ever made any money from guaranteed traffic. You could be selling £20 notes for a pound and you still wouldn't make a sale. Don't do it!

FFA Links (Free For All Liks)
"Submit your classified ad to 1,000,000 websites sites..."

Total junk. Just like Guaranteed Traffic above, FFA sites are another source of terrible traffic. In fact, I don't think anyone has ever gotten any traffic from ffa pages. This is what a Free For All page is; Basically it's a little webpage somewhere that has tons and tons of classified ads on. The problem with it is that nobody ever goes to that web site, even if they did, what's the chance of them clicking on your classified ad out of a list of 1,000 other ads on the same page? It's all done by remote computer program. You might see an advert stating that for $100 they'll submit your classified ad to 5 million ffa pages. Again, you think that's a good deal right? Your link is going to be on 5 million sites, if just 2 or 3 people click on each site then I'm going to make loads of sales and all that money... Forget it! Nobody has ever made it work.

The same goes for Search Engine Submission
"We'll submit your site to 10,000 search engines..." it's proven not to work. If you want to deal with search engines then there's much easier ways and more profitable ways for search engine submission.

Safe Lists
"e-mail 50,000 people spam free..."

Last but definately not least, safe lists. A safe list, you've probably seen ads stating; "E-mail 50 million people, Guaranteed Spam Free". Same little voice goes off "if just 1 in a million people buy and it's spam free, well that's 50 sales..." and of course you try the method and it doesn't work. Not only does it not work, you'll probably lose your ISP account and definately your host4income account because of all the spam complaints. This is what a safe list is; It's a lot of people who have given their (freeby or false) e-mail address so they can send other people on the lists their ad. What happens is nobody reads the ads. Everyone on the list has used a free e-mail account with hotmail or whoever to receive the 1,000's of classified ads they're going to receive off everyone else. They just delete all their e-mails once a week. Nobody is going to get to your ad, let alone read it. They don't work! Do NOT buy a list of e-mails from anyone!

*Local Newspaper Adverts
Very hit & miss. 9 times out of ten you will not make any sales because there's just not enough readers. Go national, it's usually not much more expensive.

There are only a VERY limited number of "opportunities" on the net that really work. Below is a link to one that DOES:
