Hi,
We are all aware of the major catastrophe that hit many asian coasts on the 26th of December. Over 150,000 people perished in this disaster and many millions have been left injured, orphaned and homeless.
The news have covered this disaster every hour on the TV and many organizations and countries have pledged a total of billions of dollars to the affected regions.
However these aids are coming in slowly and sometimes not to the right people affected by the killer Tsunami.
I live in Thailand. I just returned from a visit to Phi Phi and Phuket Island. You have to be there to really understand the catastrophe and see the emotional and economic meltdown of thousands of people.
I spent three days there doing my share of helpng locals fix up what were left of their homes, helped distribute food and blankets to shelters, donated blood, donated $200 (approx. 7,800 Thai Baht - that is all I can afford right now) and bought some milk and candies for the local orphanage.
Right now I am in the process of collecting donations from friends and other generous people to help an orphanage in Phuket that have a few more mouths to feed after this disaster.
